ALPHA AGREEMENT

Terms

These product-specific terms apply to the Talons website, desktop software, command-line tools, online coordination service, GPT, research feed, and contributor surfaces. The general Owl + Kestrel terms also apply. If these terms are more specific, these control for Talons.

Using security software responsibly

Use Talons only on devices, accounts, networks, and projects you own or are authorized to assess. Do not use it to access another person's data, evade controls, distribute malware, disrupt a service, or perform adversarial testing outside an explicitly authorized scope.

Your decisions and backups

Talons can be wrong. Security findings and model output are practical assistance, not a guarantee or professional advice. You are responsible for reviewing important actions, choosing an appropriate execution policy, maintaining backups, and stopping access when it is no longer needed.

Elevated access

Incident Response, Emergency Response, Full Access, custom policies, and Dangerous Mode can permit consequential system changes. The app explains their current authority and stop controls. Activating a broader policy means you authorize the displayed scope until it expires or you stop or revoke it.

Alpha availability

Talons is early software provided as is and as available. Features may change, fail, produce false positives, miss threats, or be withdrawn. We do not promise uninterrupted service, compatibility with every supported machine or project, complete detection, successful remediation, or protection from every attack.

Accounts and contributions

You are responsible for activity under your account. Feedback and research may be triaged, merged, moderated, or declined. You keep ownership of material you already own and grant Owl + Kestrel the rights needed to review, test, adapt, publish when designated public, and incorporate submitted proposals into Talons. Do not submit confidential or third-party material you lack permission to share.

Software and licenses

Talons and its branding remain the property of Owl + Kestrel or the relevant contributor except where a repository or bundled dependency states another license. Third-party software notices and licenses distributed with the app continue to apply.

Donations

A donation supports the project. It is voluntary, does not purchase an entitlement, does not change your security permissions or support priority, and is generally non-refundable except where required by law or where we agree otherwise.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, Owl + Kestrel is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from Talons. If we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the relevant Talons service during the prior twelve months, or USD $100 if you paid nothing.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will change the effective date when we do. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. For an ordinary product question or problem, open the Talons GPT and ask it to submit feedback so the report enters the product work queue with the relevant context.
